Epoxy Cartridge Adapter

Problem

The customer had an uncommon dual-cartridge epoxy format. A standard caulking-gun applicator was incompatible, and a dedicated applicator would have been a disproportionate purchase.

Input

The dual cartridge, the standard applicator interface, photographs and functional requirements.

Requirements

Transfer force from a standard gun, keep both cartridge outlets aligned, and remain simple enough to manufacture as a one-off.

Engineering approach

The cartridge and gun interfaces were measured and modelled in CAD. An adapter was prototyped so the existing applicator could drive the uncommon cartridge.

Result

A custom adapter was manufactured and supplied for customer validation in the intended workshop use.
